The Process

Here at Kim Belaire we manage every aspect of our hair extension production under one roof at our factory in Cambodia. Our goal is to provide our clients with a superior product as well as the transparency to understand us and have a unique buying experience. Below you can learn the detailed process of how we make our hair extensions.

1. Donor

All hair used by us has been supplied by willing donors and with full consent. We ethically source all our hair. Our donors are all treated well and with respect. They receive and agreed fair a price of money in exchange for their hair.

2. Inspection

All hair collected from the donor goes through a rigorous inspection. We first make sure the hair is free from any lice nits. We then make sure each hair strand is free from any split ends and we cut them off individually.

3. Hackling

All hair needs hackling due to the hair growth cycle. As human beings our hair sheds naturally and our new growth is shorter than hair that will be in the catagen and telogen phase of the hair growth cycle.  The hair gets hackled to make sure we get rid of the shortest hairs (anagen phase of the cycle), ensuring that the bundle will be full and even with length.

4. Wefting

The hair is then wefted. The hair is sewn multiple times to ensure durability and minimal shedding. We also make sure our wefts are made as thin as possible so our customers have a nice flat installation with their hair extensions.

5. Washed & Air Dryed

Our hair is then washed with and organic shampoo and conditioner. Our hair is never bleached or damaged and we do not use chemicals to treat the hair. This ensures that the hair is true virgin Remy and is strong, remaining in excellent condition.
